A Bulgarian will head the corporate and investment banking of UniCredit Bank Serbia

Spas Vidarkinski, who was Deputy Director of Corporate and Investment Banking and Private Banking Division of UniCredit Bulbank until recently, is now a member of the Management Board and heads the corporate and investment banking of UniCredit Bank Serbia. According to data of UniCredit Bulbank, over the past few years more than 10 Bulgarians were appointed to management positions within UniCredit Group.

Spas Vidarkinski joined UniCredit Bulbank in 2002 as Head of Markets and Brokerage Department. From 2006 until 2007, he was in charge of the bank's corporate and institutional sales, and in the following three years he was Director of Financial Markets – Trade and Sales. In 2010, Spas Vidarkinski was appointed to the role of Deputy Director of Corporate and Investment Banking and Private Banking Division of the bank.

In relation to the appointment, Csilla Ihasz, Chair of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of UniCredit Bank Serbia, said: ‘I am particularly happy that Spas is joining our team. His experience, demonstrated by his excellent results so far, will ensure the successful performance of our bank’s corporate and investment banking. Spas demonstrated strong motivation to join our team as well as to live in Serbia and learn our language, understanding that the cultures of Bulgaria and Serbia have a lot in common.’
