The new functionality of Bulbank Mobile offers a significant convenience as it is no longer necessary to enter an IBAN. It is available without a fee until the end of February 2022.
The customers of UniCredit Bulbank can now make money transfers to each other without entering an IBAN thanks to the new functionality “Transfer through a mobile number”. In order to use this functionality which is targeted at the individual customers of the bank, it is only necessary for both parties (the ordering party and the recipient of the transfer) to have an active mobile number registered at Bulbank Mobile and an account in BGN with active rights.
The development of “Transfer through a mobile number” is in response to the increasing number of interbank transfers - by more than 70% over the last two years. For this period, there has been a significant increase of all indicators of UniCredit Bulbank’s mobile banking, which will soon reach 10 years in operation, and in this connection the bank organizes a special campaign in support of the “Bulgarian Christmas” with the aim of raising 10 thousand Bulgarian leva.
The forecast of the bank’s experts in digital channels development is that the new functionality will very soon be among the favourite ones of the Bulbank Mobile users. Currently, according to the statistics of the bank, the most frequently used functionalities are the following: account balance information, transfers through Bulbank Mobile, payment through the digital portfolio incorporated in the application, and payment of utility services. Notably, there is a significant increase of the share of customers who use mobile banking for transactions and not just to check their accounts.
What is important for all customers of the bank is that until 28.02.2022 they can take advantage of the promotional campaign in which they can make a transfer through a mobile number to other customers of the bank without any fee.
It is fast and simple to activate the functionality and to make transfers: through the “Payments” menu >> “Transfer“ >> “Transfer through a mobile number“. Every customer who has activated the new functionality can choose a recipient from the telephone numbers available in his/her smartphone, but these recipients must also have gone through the activation process.
