Tzvetanka Mintcheva was honored with a special award for financing sustainable development

The CEO of UniCredit Bulbank, Tzvetanka Mintcheva, was honoured with a special award for financing sustainable development in the second edition of the SDG Pioneers Annual Awards 2023 - the world’s most prestigious awards for sustainability supported by the United Nations (UN).

For the Bank's continuous efforts in finding Solutions for the Future and the specialized program ESG Academy, developed in association with Sofia University, the prestigious jury of the contest handed over the award to Tzvetanka Mintcheva. “Achievements in any field are impossible without support from different countries, and when projects spanning decades are concerned, you need a reliable partner who believes in your dreams”, is stated in the nomination.

I accept this award on behalf of the entire team of UniCredit Bulbank because for us ESG is not just a concept but rather something that is at the heart of everything we do. At UniCredit we believe that we can create opportunities for success for all groups of interested parties: banks exist to do more than to grant loans. We exist to support entrepreneurs, families and vulnerable groups to build better lives and thus help the whole society. We want to help our society become not only more sustainable but also more inclusive and fair”, said Tzvetanka Mintcheva upon receiving the award. The award was presented to her by Dimitar Tsotsorkov, the Chairperson of the UN Global Compact Network Bulgaria.

The awarding of the second annual sustainability awards once again highlighted the important principles that unite the companies of the UN Global Compact and the Bulgarian Network. Together they marked the inspiring actions of persons from leading companies - a recognition that everyone's efforts matter, and when supported by the power of business, they can change the present and the future.
