Financial support will be granted also to the Home for People with Impaired Vision in the city of Sofia and the Children's Home in the Sofia district of Dragalevtsi.
The Department of Pediatric Cardiology at the National Heart Hospital received new medical equipment worth approximately BGN 8,800. The equipment will be used for diagnosis of heart problems in newborns and children. This donation to the Department of Pediatric Cardiology was made possible thanks to the Christmas Charity Bazaar organized by employees of UniCredit Bulbank.
It was officially given on behalf of UniCredit Bulbank employees by Levon Hampartzoumian, Chief Executive Officer of UniCredit Bulbank, to Prof. Mario Stankev, Executive Director of the National Heart Hospital, and Assoc. Prof. Anna Kaneva, Head of the Department of Pediatric Cardiology.
"I am very happy that my colleagues at UniCredit Bulbank unite in support of good causes and strive to contribute to making Bulgaria a better place to live in", Levon Hampartzoumian commented.
The charity Christmas and Easter bazaars are organized for a third consecutive year. The employees support the cause through purchasing souvenirs, toys and sweets, all handmade by their co-workers.
In addition to the Department of Pediatric Cardiology, the funds raised during the Christmas Charity Bazaar will be used to aid also the Home for People with Impaired Vision in Sofia and the Children's Home in the Sofia district of Dragalevtsi.
Traditionally the employees of the bank participate in various charity initiatives together with their families.
About 200 employees of UniCredit Bulbank collected nearly 500 kg of waste in Vitosha Mountain within the third Green Day of the bank in the spring of 2013. The areas around Momina Skala Chalet and Planinets Chalet were cleaned and the benches and gazebos around the two chalets were painted. The employees's children were active participants, building bird houses which they then fixed on the trees.
In 2012 the employees cleaned the area around the Monastery of Dragalevtsi in Vitosha Mountain, supporting the national campaign “Let’s Clean Bulgaria in One Day”.
For the first Green Day, which was conducted in October 2011, UniCredit Bulbank was distinguished for Voluntary Initiative of the Year. Nearly 300 employees of the bank and their families planted 1,300 willows and about 1,800 healing buckthorn plants in Vitosha Park.
