- Today the bank announced donation of another 100 000 BGN to the Ministry of Health to support the laboratories and for purchase of COVID – 19 tests.
- Another 25 000 will be provided to the joint fund of donors in Bulgaria which will be utilized according to the recommendation of the National Crisis Unit.
- New donations come in less than a week after the bank donated 100 000 BGN to Pirogov for covering extraordinary medical needs of the hospital.
In the light of the national state of emergency generated by COVID-19 pandemic, UniCredit Bulbank donates another 100 000 BGN to the Ministry of Health. The amount will be used to support the laboratories and for purchase of COVID – 19 tests. This donation of the bank comes in less than a week after a donation of 100 000 to the biggest emergency hospital in Bulgaria – Pirogov for covering extraordinary medical needs.
Thus, the total amount, donated by the bank in the battle with COVID – 19 reaches 225 000 BGN adding up also 25 000 BGN to the joint fund of donors in Bulgaria which will be utilized according to the recommendation of the National Crisis Unit.

After addressing the urgent needs of the biggest emergency hospital in Bulgaria, we extend our support also to laboratories. We believe that this is the right thing to do considering the collective challenge we are facing”, declared Teodora Petkova, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of UniCredit Bulbank.
This donation made by UniCredit Bulbank follows regional efforts - in Italy, the bank donated over 2 million euros for medical and protection equipment, research and patient care. In Germany, HypoVereinsbank has acquired two ventilators which it is donating to hospitals in rural areas and supported nationwide active organizations with a total donation of EUR 100,000 for the purchase of respiratory masks, disinfectants and food people in need. In Romania UniCredit donated 160 000 euros for purchase of medical equipment.
