UniCredit Bulbank provides internships to two disadvantaged youths. Thus the bank supports the project Get Ready 2 Work.

The purpose of the project is the integration and active employment of disadvantaged young people on the labor market by applying successful training models and labor market inclusion programmes from Austria and Germany.

The project includes creation of a comprehensive module programme for training in Bulgaria, which is oriented not only to the main target group – youths, but also to employers, educators, career consultants and social workers, as well as to experts from institutions related to the labour market. This systematic approach for integration of disadvantaged young people opens a new perspective for overcoming the unemployment in this target group.

"I chose the bank as a first employer because working in a bank was a dream of mine. As an intern, I can say that I am learning many new and interesting things about the bank, as well as about the coworkers with whom we are performing various tasks. I am glad I was part of the project Get Ready 2 Work and I am grateful that UniCredit was involved and gave us a chance to experience the authentic work atmosphere", Nataliya Spasova, one of the project participants and an intern at Human Resources Department, has shared.

The training programme lasted 8 weeks. 50 socially and economically disadvantaged youths aged 18-29 took part in it. The courses consisted of practical activities, interesting group and individual projects, as well as personal meetings with individual consultants.

After completion of the training, two participants were included in the Internship Programme of UniCredit Bulbank. The internship will have an initial duration of 3 months, which duration, depending on the intern's willingness and the bank's resources, can be extended up to 6 months.

The project Get Ready 2 Work is being implemented with the financial support of Human Resources Development Operational Programme, co-funded by the European Social Fund of the European Union.
