Forty UniCredit experts from 11 countries - Austria, Bosna and Hercegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Russia, Serbia, and Slovenia - proudly graduated this week from the first multinational ESG Academy, a comprehensive certification program, delivered in cooperation with The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski".
The ESG Academy in English is a pioneering executive education initiative in Southeast Europe.
Professors from Bulgaria, Greece, The Netherlands, and Belgium delivered up-to-date practical knowledge in 5 modules in the areas of Sustainable finance; ESG Management, Environmental pillar of sustainability; Green and circular economy; Social pillar of sustainability; ESG reporting and data requirements.
“The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at the Sofia university and its ESG Lab, lead by Assoc. Prof. Marina Stefanova, PhD, are proud to be an academic partner of UniCredit for its sustainability education program. I believe this project is just the beginning, as the academic community and UniCredit have a lot more to do together and there will be many others who will follow UniCredit's steps.”, said during the official graduation ceremony Associate Professor Atanas Georgiev, PhD, Dean of Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Sofia University.
“The ESG Academy is in line with a key pillar of UniCredit Unlocked strategy - to incorporate sustainability in everything we do. What makes me particularly proud are two facts: 40 of 40 participants graduated successfully. Considering the challenging curriculum, this is a clear sign of the ownership that our people have regarding their development. Moreover, we have had participants from many different structures and levels in the organization, which is indicative for the life-long learning culture that we nurture in UniCredit", commented Ivan Tardivo, Head of CE&EE People and Culture of UniCredit.
