In its annual financial institutions ranking - Europe Banking Awards - the financial magazine EMEA Finance awarded UniCredit Bulbank as “Best Bank in Bulgaria”, the edition’s editor–in-chief Chris Moore said.

The award will be announced in the new issue of EMEA Finance that will be presented to the participants in the Annual meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London. UniCredit Bulbank receives the prize for best bank by EMEA Finance for fourth year in a row.

“It’s very significant that even in this hard for the whole market 2011, once again we won the prize for best bank in Bulgaria. This means a lot to us – it means that we have succeeded in being close to our clients in this challenging environment, and we have supported them in hard and good times”, commented Levon Hampartzoumian, Chief Executive Officer of UniCredit Bulbank.

UniCredit Bulbank is number one on the Bulgarian banking market in 2011 by assets (BGN 11.9 billion), shareholders capital (BGN 2 billion), loans (BGN 8.48 billion) and attracted deposits (BGN 7.3 billion). The Bank has about 220 branches in Bulgaria, around 4,000 employees and services over 1.2 mln. individual and corporate clients.

Recently UniCredit Bulbank was awarded “Bank of the Year” from The Banker magazine, “Best Bank in Bulgaria” from Global Finance Magazine and strongest bank brand in Bulgaria by Superbrands.
