The Board of Directors of UniCredit S.p.A. has granted to Federico Ghizzoni the title of Deputy Chief Executive Officer - Responsible for the CEE Divisionalization Program and CEE Banking Operations, appointing him also as Group’s Deputy General Manager.

Ghizzoni - 54 years – has a thirty years long career in the Group, with assignments of increasing responsibility in Italy and abroad, specifically in the United Kingdom, Singapore, Poland, Turkey and Austria, and most recently as responsible for the CEE (Central & Eastern Europe) business of the Group.

His appointment recognizes the value of the CEE franchise for the Group and the importance of the assigned organizational scope – related to the management of CEE countries and supervision of Polish activities.

Alessandro Profumo said: “Federico has strong managerial capabilities and a deep knowledge of the individual markets, thanks to his experience both in Italy and internationally. His appointment is also testimony of the strategic role played by CEE as an engine of growth for UniCredit”.

Professional CV

Federico Ghizzoni was born in Piacenza (Italy) on October 14, 1955.

He holds a Degree in Law from University of Law in Parma and started his career in 1980 as customer relations manager at UniCredit's Piacenza Branch.

Having worked as the Head of Credit & Marketing Department at Piacenza Branch, Ghizzoni assumed the position of Branch Director in Trieste between 1988 and 1989. Continuing his career as Director of Seriate Branch between 1990 and 1992, Ghizzoni was appointed Deputy General Manager to UniCredit's London Office.

After having been appointed the UniCredit’s Singapore Office General Manager in 1995, Ghizzoni became Executive Director responsible of Corporate and International Banking between 2000 and 2002 at Bank Pekao S.A. In 2003 Ghizzoni started to work at Koç Financial Services.

In his capacity as Executive Board Member of Koç Financial Services and all its affiliates, Ghizzoni has also been serving in the upper management, responsible of auditing, risk management, planning and control. After the acquisition by Koç Financial Services of Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi and its affiliates, he become the COO & Executive Board Member of Koç Financial Services and COO & Vice Chairman of Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi.

In July 2007, he was appointed Head of Poland's Markets Division at UniCredit and Board Member responsible for the CEE Banking Division at UniCredit Bank Austria AG with the Group title of Senior Executive Vice President.

From March 2009 he is Head of the CEE Divisionalization Program and Head of CEE Banking Operations.

In April 2009 he has been appointed Member of UniCredit Group Executive Management Committee.

He is also Supervisory Board Member in various Company of UniCredit/ UniCredit Bank Austria Group, such as: Bank Pekao SA, Yapi Kredi Bankasi AS, UniCredit Tiriac Bank SA, UniCredit Global Leasing.
