For a second year in a row at its 2009 ranking of financial institutions by country, international journal emeafinance (www.emeafinance.com) ranked UniCredit Bulbank as the best bank in Bulgaria. The news was announced by the journal’s publisher and chief executive director Christopher Moor and will be published in the May issue. The official awarding ceremony will take place at a charity dinner in London on June 9, the funds from which will be donated to Unicef.

UniCredit Bulbank received the prise of “Best Bank in Bulbank” of emeafinance in 2008 as well, which is a sign of the sustainable development of the bank despite the challenging environment as a result of the international economic crisis.

For best banks in their countries were also announced the two banks of UniCredit from Poland and Croatia – Pekao Bank and Zagrebacka banka.

UniCredit Bulbank closed 2009 as an undisputed market leader by assets (BGN 11.5 bln), attracted deposits (BGN 6.42 bln), disbursed loans and advanced payments to customers (BGN 7.37 bln) and equity (BGN 1.63 bln). Recently the Bank was proclaimed “Best Bank in Bulgaria” for the previous year by international journal Global Finance. In 2010 UniCredit Bulbank also received recognitionon the Bulgarian Business Leaders forum for its corporate social responsibility.
