Important fraud prevention information

News

Dear Customers,

We would like to inform you that during the upcoming holidays, criminals become particularly active and fraud cases increase.

Therefore, we ask you to be very vigilant and cautious of any contact you may receive from unknown merchants or individuals regarding some of the most common fraud attempts, such as:

  • Urgent withdrawal and transfer of funds from you. In such situations, do not carry out the instructions received and immediately notify the police by calling 112.
  • When making payments to online merchants and when buying and selling goods on e-commerce platforms, always check the accuracy of the sites before making a payment. Do not follow links sent to you by third parties and do not enter your bank card details until you have verified the legitimacy of the other party. Do not give out the dynamic password you receive to confirm an online card payment in a telephone conversation or chat application. It is unique and for your personal use only when making card purchases from online merchants. In addition to the dynamic password itself, the notification from Bulbank Mobile also contains information about the merchant, the amount and the currency of the payment to which the password applies. Please note these details (see here where to find them) before confirming the transaction by entering the dynamic password.
  • Be vigilant when paying invoices, as there have been cases of counterfeit invoices. Always carry out a thorough check of your account and counterparty details before arranging a transfer, especially if it is the first time you are paying a new counterparty or if the account is different from the one you usually pay.
  • Be wary of messages requesting direct entry of banking and personal information under the pretext of updating customer details, including: account number (IBAN), bank card, usernames and passwords for online or mobile banking.

Please note that UniCredit Bulbank AD does not request from its customers, through any channel, data related to their access to Bulbank Mobile and Bulbank Online, dynamic passwords to confirm an online payment with a card, or your card details.

If you suspect fraud, please contact the Customer Contact Centre immediately on 0700 1 84 84 (short code 1 84 84) or by e-mail at DbmmDfoufsAVojDsfejuHspvq/Ch.

Further advice and fraud prevention tips can also be found on the Bank's website.

Yours sincerely,

The UniCredit Bulbank Team
