UniCredit Studio hosts Freedom - an exhibition on mobile photography by Instagram

UniCredit Studio Modern Art Gallery presents the exhibition on mobile photography Freedom. The exhibition is part of Photography Month 2014 of which UniCredit Bulbank is the official bank through "FOR Art" programme in support of high quality projects from the Bulgarian cultural scene. Photography Month is the largest photographic event in Bulgaria. More than 60 exhibitions in more than 30 different places will be displayed in June.

The authors of Freedom are Didi Andreeva, Ivan Georgiev, Irena Aneva, Nadezhda Pavlova, Petya Vasileva, Yana Kopcheva and Lyubomir Vasilev /LAVA/ who is also a curator.

Mobile photography (called "mobile" because the pictures are shot with mobile devices and uploaded in Instagram social network) is a contemporary art format whose immediacy arouses both interest and controversy.

"Modern technologies thanks to which the exhibition owes its existence gives us the freedom to look at our everyday lives in an unexpected and often raw form and content. It is up to us to decide whether we like or not what we saw through the eye of the mobile phone. However, what is important is that UniCredit Studio presents momentous scenes of real life collected by talented young photographers. The way we will interpret and use what we saw is a question of freedom", said The CEO of UniCredit Bulbank Levon Hampartzoumian.

Photographic art lovers can visit the exhibition until July 4th, 2014.
