The most valuable European football trophy – the UEFA Champions League Trophy – will be in Bulgaria next week and Pirès is its official ambassador for the country.
The Trophy will also be accompanied by its ambassador for Europe – Fabio Capello.
The legendary French football player – Robert Pirès is the official ambassador for Bulgaria of the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour, presented by UniCredit. He will accompany the Trophy together with one of the greatest football coaches of all time – Fabio Capello.
The most valuable European football trophy – the UEFA Champions League Trophy comes to Bulgaria next week. The event will bring the Trophy close to the football fans and will be filled with lots of emotions.
Placed on an attractive-looking double-decker bus, the Trophy started its European Tour from Berlin on 20 September. Then it passed through Hungary, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bulgaria was awarded the prestigious role to organize the final of the European Tour this year.
Between 18 and 23 October the Trophy will be exhibited successively in Sofia, Veliko Tarnovo and Stara Zagora. The events are organized with the kind cooperation of the municipalities and their Mayors.
Apart from the Trophy itself, within the European Trophy Tour, UniCredit will present to the fans a rich collection of football memorabilia and lots of interactive games.
The Trophy in Bulgaria
The Trophy will enter the country through Kalotina Border Checkpoint and in the course of three days – between 18 and 20 October it will be on display in a specially constructed football tent, located in front of the National Theatre “Ivan Vazov”. Apart from the opportunity to have a close look at it and take pictures with the Trophy, all the visitors will be able to see the rich collection of football memorabilia accompanying the trophy, to have fun with interactive games and to win numerous original awards. Admission is absolutely free for all visitors.
The programme for Sofia is:
• Official opening in front of the National Theatre with Fabio Capello and Robert Pirès and opening hours for visits: 2:30 – 6:00 p.m., 18 October;
• Free access to the exhibition and the Trophy: 11:00 – 8:00 p.m., 19 October;
• Free access to the exhibition and the Trophy: 9:00 – 8:00 p.m., 20 October.

Besides Sofia, three other big Bulgarian towns have been approved by UEFA to host the Trophy Tour. Each municipality plans attractive events for the visit of the Trophy in their town. It will be on display in:
• Veliko Tarnovo – 21. October, 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. – Marno Pole Park;
• Veliko Tarnovo – 21. October, 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m – the Square in front of Tsarevets Fortress;
• Plovdiv – 22. October, 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. – Central Square of Plovdiv;
• Stara Zagora – 23. October,12:00 – 6:00 p.m. – the Square in front of the Municipality Building.
A lot of pleasant emotions and prizes await all the people who visit any of the events in these four towns.
The Trophy is expected to be accompanied in Bulgaria by famous Bulgarian and foreign legendary football players who will be personally involved in the events with the fans.
