Galleria Burgas Mall will open its doors with 90% of leased space

The value of the entire project amounted to EUR 76 million.

Galleria Burgas Mall will open its doors on 15 May with с 90% of leased space. Among the main lease holders are Carrefour, Cinema city, Zara, H&M, Bershka, Esprit, Deichmann, Technomarket, etc. The value of the entire project amounted to EUR 76 mln. The funding was provided through a syndicated loan between the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Bank Austria, where UniCredit Bulbank provided the revolving VAT line.

The construction of Galleria Burgas Mall began in November 2009 and finished on schedule in March this year, and the project was not suspended during the crisis. The shopping complex has a total leasable space of 35 thousand sq. m. It will have 52 shops, a supermarket with an area of 4 653 sq.m, 8 diners with a total area of 534 sq.m., as well as a dining hall – 637 sq.m., a separate restaurant (921 sq.m.); a cinema complex with 9 theaters, service premises for the administrative and technical staff, storage space, technical premises and a covered car park.

In 2012, Burgas will rank second in the country by the number of newly-opened malls. Apart from Galleria Burgas, by the end of the year in the coastal city, the “Strand Burgas“ is also expected to open its doors, which will be in three levels, and will have a total area of 30 thousand sq.m.

The city of Burgas is the second largest city on the Black Sea shore, with a population of around 220 000 people, and approximately 200 000 visitors each summer. “Galleria Burgas“ is expected to attract customers from the entire Burgas District, or around 420 000 people, as well as visitors of the city and the surrounding area.

“Galleria Burgas“ corresponds entirely to the strategy of the investor for the construction of high-quality, modern commercial facilities for domestic and international commercial chains“, commented Martin Petkov, Real-Estate Financing Manager in UniCredit Bulbank. According to him, there is an increase in the interest of investors, who move to commercial projects, generating sustainable revenue, provided by reliable lease holders.

In the end of the year, two more shopping centers are expected to start operating, whose funding was also provided by UniCredit Bulbank. Both complexes are located in Sofia – “Bulgaria Mall“, Located on Bulgaria, Blvd., and “Paradise Mall“, located on Cherni Vrah, Blvd.
