For the first time, a poll of Global Finance’s corporate readership was conducted in order to increase the accuracy and reliability of the results.

UniCredit Bulbank received the prestigious “The Best Bank in Bulgaria for 2014” Award from the International Finance Magazine Global Finance. The best bank is selected on the basis of a report which covers 22 countries from four continents. UniCredit Bulbank has received this award for the ninth consecutive year.

Criteria for choosing the winners by country included financial indicators, scope of the services, innovative products, customer service, technological innovations, etc. In addition, for the first time, a poll of Global Finance’s corporate readership was conducted in order to increase the accuracy and reliability of the results.

“Faced with slowing growth and volatile markets, these banks are star performers under increasingly challenging conditions,” said Joseph D. Giarraputo, publisher and editorial director of Global Finance. “The banks that Global Finance is honoring may not be the largest or oldest, but they are the best at targeting their products and offerings to the specific markets they serve.”

A full report on all the selections will appear in the May issue of Global Finance. The ceremony will take place on October 11th 2014 in Washington at the annual meeting of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
