UniCredit Bulbank was awarded the prize for Best Bank of 2011 in the Capital 100 ranking of Capital newspaper. The Bank's CEO, Mr. Levon Hampartzoumian accepted the award at an official ceremony on the evening of 4 July. Mr. Evgeni Angelov, Advisor to the President (and former Minister of Economy) presented the award.

"UniCredit Bulbank was announced Bank of the Year thanks to its customers and their good performance over the last year. We will continue to be close to our customers, to support them in order to grow together and achieve good results“, said Mr. Levon Hampartzoumian.

For the first time, the specialized issue of Capital 100 includes a ranking of the best banks in Bulgaria. The ranking is based on the financial indicators of the banks published by the Bulgarian National Bank, while different indicators were used for the final ranking, divided into four groups, each having different weight for the end result - stability (50% total weight), efficiency (30% total weight), size (10% total weight) and dynamics (10% total weight).

UniCredit Bulbank was number one on the banking market last year for assets (BGN 11.9bn), equity (BGN 2bn), loans granted (BGN 8.48bn) and deposits attracted (BGN 7.3bn). The Bank has around 220 branches in Bulgaria, almost 4000 employees and services more than 1.2m private and corporate clients.
