9th of May the European Union celebrates the integration of free Europe. Happy Europe Day!

News

Dear clients and partners,

Happy Europe Day!

On 9th of May the European Union celebrates the integration of free Europe. On this date in 1950 the French foreign minister Robert Schuman appeals to France, Germany and the other European countries to integrate their coal and steel production on the way of ever closer union between the European people. The Schuman Declaration initiates the process of European unification and leads to the establishment of the European Union.

The date is chosen on purpose. It is a symbolic sign of respect to Germany, whereas 9th of May is transformed from day of the German defeat to Day of Europe and the common European future.

57 years later Bulgaria became the 27th country of the European family and celebrates its 5th Day of Europe as a full member state.
