Our football legend Hristo Stoichkov will take part in the UniCredit Pro Am golf tournament, which will be held right before the European UniCredit Golf Championship for club professionals on the golf course of Pravets Golf Club on 26th September. The 1994 Golden Ball award winner who has been keen on golf for years now will be among the more than 80 Bulgarian golfers to play side by side with the best European club professionals. There has been extraordinary interest to this unique for Eastern Europe event – the places for Bulgarian participants were fully booked weeks ago. Especially for the tournament comes the manager of Pioneer Investments for CEE Roman Pospisil, who will compete in UniCredit Pro Am as well. Pioneer Investments is UniCredit’s asset management company and in Bulgaria it is the biggest company for mutual funds.
The teams in the UniCredit Pro Am Championship will be formed by 3 amateurs and one professional player. This gives local golfers the unique opportunity to play side by side with the best club professionals of Europe.
The European UniCredit Golf Championship for club professionals is under the auspices of Bulgaria’s Prime Minister, Mr. Boyko Borisov. The championship, thanks to its general partner UniCredit Bulbank, will gather 60 top golfers from over 30 PGA (Professional Golf Association) member countries from Europe. The participants have been selected on the basis of national qualifications among over 20,000 club professionals from all over Europe.
The championship is of big importance to European professional golf. The impressive prizes totaling EUR 60,000 ensure an especially high level of play. The contest will be held in four 18-hole rounds in the course of four days.
