On special ceremony after the concert of the Milan philharmonic orchestra La Scala Mr. Levon Hampartzoumian, Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of UniCredit Bulbank was officially awarded with the Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity (Ordine della Stella della Solidarietà Italiana)

Mr. Hampartzoumian was honoured with the title Commendatore of the Order at the beginning of May with a Decree of the President of the Italian Republic Giorgio Napolitano.

Mr. Hampartzoumian was awarded with one of the most distinguished European orders of merit personally by His Excellency the Ambassador of Italy Mr. Stefano Benazzo.

Mr. Hampartzoumian was awarded with the title for his contribution to the development of the relations between Bulgaria and Italy.

The Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity was originally instituted in 1947. It is managed by four-member council, presided by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Italy and the Chairman of the Order is the President of the country. Titles of the Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity are awarded to popular and distinguished leaders in different fields of development - diplomats, scientists, state persons, etc.
