Meeting of the Presidents of Central Europe Countries

Mr. Levon Hampartzoumian, Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of Bulbank, participates in the 13th Meeting of the Presidents of Central Europe countries, held today near Varna. As part of the business delegation, Mr. Hampartzoumian represents UniCredit Group and Mr. Alessandro Profumo.

Amongst the other members of the foreign business delegation is the President of European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Mr. Jan Lemierre, Mr. Peter-Rudiger Puf, Chief Economic Director of DaimlerChrysler AG, Germany, representatives of CEZ, Fraport and others.

13 Heads of State will attend the meeting – the presidents of Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine and Slovenia.

The Presidents will meet for two plenary sessions dedicated to the Present and Future of Central Europe. Former Austrian President Thomas Klestil is the initiator of the Meetings of the Presidents of Central European States. In 1992 he shared his idea with the Presidents of Czechoslovakia Vaclav Havel, Germany Richard von Weizsacker, and Hungary Arpad Goncz.

The meetings were established as an annual forum in 1994 when the Presidents of Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Slovenia met in Litomysl, Czech Republic.
