Mobile application called “Fit in the Budget” wins the first edition of UniCredit  App Challenge

The award of the audience in the competition for ideas for mobile applications and interactive content in the banking sector was won by the application DareU;

The criteria of the professional jury included applicability, innovativeness and potential for implementation.

The idea for a mobile application called “Fit in the Budget” won the first place in UniCredit App Challenge, the competition for mobile applications and interactive content, powered by Mobile Monday. The purpose of “Fit in the Budget” is to make monitoring purchases and cash withdrawals easy and convenient. The application makes it possible for the consumer with one move to arrange information into budgets for food, car expenses, costs for education etc. If the customer manages to “fit in the budget”, he/she gets bonus points and preferential offers from the bank.

The mobile application “Fit in the Budget” received a prize of 3000 Bulgarian lev, provided by UniCredit Bulbank, and the popular HTC One phone.

The competition UniCredit App Challenge is organized by the largest Bulgarian bank in partnership with Mobile Monday. The prize pool amounts to more than 10 000 Bulgarian lev. The event gathered the best ideas for mobile and web applications in the banking sphere. The professional jury comprised of representatives of the business and IT sector. The selection criteria included applicability, innovativeness and potential for implementation. The jury focused on ideas giving viable solutions and bringing real benefits to bank customers.

Inna Tinova with her idea “Shopping with Donna” was ranked second, receiving 2000 Bulgarian lev and a HTC One S phone. “Shopping with Donna” is a mobile shopping club that offers products with the trademarks included in the Donna catalogue of UniCredit Bulbank. The idea „Get-a-credit” ended up in the third place.

UniCredit Bulbank, a founder of the first Branch of the Future in Bulgaria, invested in the UniCredit App Challenge competition believing that the leading position in the banking market will be reserved for the institution that offers the most convenient and reliable services on user-friendly platforms – in the branch network, online or via mobile phones. The Chairman of UniCredit App Challenge is the banker Mr. Levon Hampartzoumian.

The award of the audience, and a HP ElitePad 900 ultra book, was won by Blagovest Dimitrov for his mobile application called “DareU”. His idea involves challenging customers to do things that bring them discounts, free services or other bonuses.

The jury gave also a special prize for an application that facilitates the sending of a text message for making a donation to the charity campaigns of DMS Bulgaria. The winner was given the right to choose a cause, to which the bank will donate 500 Bulgarian lev on his behalf.
