News

Classical operas and modern music have inspired artist Orlin Atanasov to create unique pictures, “drawn” using .. Italian pasta.

The unconventional pieces of art are collected into the unique exhibition entitled “Pasta and Music”, which will be presented by Orlin Atanasov and UniCredit Bulbank on 1st April 2008 into the Marble Hall of Bulgaria Hall, Sofia. The exhibition will be open for visitors until the middle of April.

The exhibition’s opening day on the April Fools’ Day, is no coincidence. The author is trying to get his message through in a joyful manner. I have tried to divert the audience’s attention from the material my works are made of, putting a smile on their faces, making them relax for a while, said Orlin Atanasov.

The pictures have unusual titles such as “Baroque trumpets”, “Menuet”, “Turandot”,“Rhythm”, “R&B”, etc. The coloured spaghetti, macaroni, tortellini and tagliatelle arecombined in such way as to evoke pleasant emotions.

As a matter of tradition, UniCredit Bulbank supports valuable art and cultural projects. Among those is the exclusive partnership for the first concert of the European Union Youth Orchestra in Bulgaria; the display in Bulgaria of the unique collection of pictures from Farnesina Palace, as well, the European Musical Festival, season 2008, etc.
