At the beginning of the pandemic, UniCredit Bulbank instantly supported the society for covering essential medical needs. Later, with the internal donation campaign, it managed to help social entrepreneurs, the disabled and the poor, elderly people and female victims of violence.
The employees supported with own funds 10 organizations which are active in various strands and locations: Sv. Nikolay Chudotvorets Foundation and the “Wonderful Garden”, the World of Mary Foundation and their Catering Bon Appétit, Art Workshop Tvorilnitsa, Club of Non-Profit Organizations in Targovishte, Health and Social Development Foundation, Caritas Sofia, Northwest Project, Civil Initiatives Association - town of
Lovech, Animus Association Foundation, Project #zadobroto.
“I am glad that the colleagues support the efforts of UniCredit in Bulgaria for coping with the consequences of the spread of COVID-19. The personal engagement of each one of them, donating personal funds with the great desire to help people in need makes me feel proud again that together we are building a worthy socially responsible company”, shared Teodora Petkova, CEO and Chairperson of the Management Board.
For as many colleagues as possible to take part, the campaign was organized through the mobile banking of UniCredit Bulbank. A specially generated QR code for an account opened for this specific purpose gets scanned with the Bulbank Mobile application and the donor is ready to make the transfer. The whole process takes 30 seconds. This is an innovative and fast way to make donations, which makes the whole process simple and it can encourage donors to be even more active.
