The final stop of the first European tour of the most coveted football trophy is organized by UniCredit Group and UniCredit Bulbank in Sofia on October 17-18 in front of Ivan Vazov National Theatre
Residents and guests of Rousse will be the first to see the Cup as early as on October 14; residents and guests of Pleven will see it off to the final in Madrid on October 19.
More than 60 thousand people in Italy, Croatia and Romania have been able until now to see and take a photo with the original UEFA Champion’s League Cup during its first European tour organized by the tournament sponsor UniCredit Group, the statistics of UEFA’s official web site revealed. Due to the big interest the organizers from UniCredit would frequently prolong the hours of access to the Trophy.
The final stop is in Sofia on October 17-18
As happens in football, the final is the most interesting match. Thanks to the fact that the biggest bank in this country UniCredit Bulbank is part of UEFA Champion’s League sponsor – UniCredit Group, the honour to host the final of the European tour is Bulgaria’s.
Bulgarian fans will be able to see and take a photo with the Trophy free-of-charge in Sofia on October 17-18. The “holy grail”, as UEFA Champion’s League Trophy is known, will be exhibited in an enormous pavilion in front of Ivan Vazov National Theatre. It will be accessible between 12:00 - 20:00 o’clock on October 17 and between 9:00 and 21:00 on October 18. This very Trophy that Bulgarian fans will see will be held by the winner of this UEFA Champion’s League final in Madrid 2010.
Due to the expected huge interest, entry to the pavilion will be secured through two lanes. The keenest fans can ensure access through the VIP entry by registering at the special site be-part-of-it.unicredit.eu. Click on Trophy Tour and Tour and Exhibition from the top menu. Then in the VIP access box register yourself and relatives/friends as VIP guests of the exhibition.
The tour has unprecedented security measures. The Trophy travels in a large transparent strong box installed on a special 18 tone red truck (see picture), which you can see on the way from Rousse to Sofia even on October 14.
In fact it is the honour of the residents and guests of Rousse to see and take a photo with the Trophy first as it will cross the Danube Bridge late in the morning on October 14. The town will host a special welcoming ceremony around noon on that day. According to organizers’ plans, Pleven will close the European tour of the Trophy on October 19.
