Card payments – convenient and safe. Some useful tips for Internet payments

News

Dear customers,

With the holidays around the corner, the desire for online shopping and the pleasure from it are growing. For greater safety and satisfaction, we would like to offer you some useful tips for Internet payments.

Please mind the following:

• The shopping website has to contain information about the merchant and contact details – address, phone number, e-mail, etc.;

• Before paying, read the general terms and conditions of the merchant – a way and price of delivery; an option for cancellation of the order; returning and/or replacement of a product;

• If the merchant is offering a promotion or a test period, check whether acceptance of the general terms and conditions entails subscription for a service, for which you will be later required to pay a fee at certain time intervals;

• Make your purchases only from secure Internet sites – there must be a little "padlock" or a "key" in the bottom right corner of the screen of your Internet browser, and the address of the website will change from "http" to "https";

• Check whether the merchant works with the card holder identification programmes Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode;

• Shop safely with your bank card by subscribing it for free for the service "password for trustworthy payments on the Internet".

• Do not give to third persons your card data, user names and passwords;

• Control the access to your computer, smartphone or tablet;

• Do not open and do not answer an e-mail message that wants you to provide card or personal data; consult the bank if you have any doubts about the authenticity of such a message;

• If there is a problem with an order placed by you via the Internet, we advise you to contact the merchant directly and to try to solve the situation with them; if this turns out impossible, UniCredit Bulbank is ready to assist you accordingly;

• Keep all documents related to an online purchase, as well as any correspondence with the merchant;

• In case of loss/theft of your card or if you have any doubts that the same is being used illegally by other persons, immediately inform the bank and order blocking of the card;
