The highly anticipated season of spring is depicted in the first exhibition of UniCredit Studio for this year, namely “Sketches of Spring”, which includes the intriguing photographs of “Sketches of Sofia” and is realized with the partnership of Sofia Municipality. The well familiar “Sketches” take us around the somewhat desolate city of Sofia, which however has not lost its charm and invites people to start seeing the beauty that is around them again. The spring in Sofia transforms through the contrasts of the late snow to the exuberant colours of the streets wakening up.
“We would like to invite all citizens and visitors of Sofia to enjoy this wonderful spring exhibition of the “Sketches of Sofia”. This is the second exhibition that we present together with the “Sketches”, the former one being the Christmas exhibition in UniCredit Studio gallery. We are a responsible institution and we realise that at this moment we cannot invite art lovers to visit the Studio. However, this does not change our standing commitment to invest in culture, despite the state of emergency, in which our country and the world found itself in”, commented Teodora Petkova, Chief Executive Officer of UniCredit Bulbank.
The UniCredit Studio team has adopted the decision not to open the space for contemporary art, adhering to the recommendation to avoid many people gathering in one spot, in order to limit the spread of COVID-19. Nevertheless, various ways to support art and young artists are explored, as well as options how to reopen exhibitions, while observing all safety measures.
The romantic exhibition “Sketches of Spring” can be seen on Lovers’ Bridge near the National Palace of Culture in the period from May 18th until June 7th. This particular place was chosen for the fact that it is a pedestrian zone and people walking can easily and at a safe distance enjoy the beautiful works of the “Sketches of Sofia”
