The Bank’s General Meeting of Shareholders nominated four new members

• Emilia Palibachiyska and the Head of Eastern Europe Teodora Petkova were nominated Chair and Vice-Chair respectively;
• Pasquale Giamboi and Assoc. Prof. Atanas Georgiev, PhD join as new members.

The Bank’s General Meeting of Shareholders nominated Emilia Palibachiyska and Teodora Petkova as Chair and Vice-Chair of the Supervisory Board of UniCredit Bulbank. Pasquale Giamboi and Assoc. Prof. Atanas Georgiev, PhD also join the Supervisory Board.

Emilia Palibachiyska started her banking career in 1990. In 2002, she took up the position of Executive Director and a member of the Management Board of HVB Bank Biochim. From the end of 2007 until September 2017, Emilia Palibachiyska was Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Management Board of UniCredit Bulbank.

During her career in the banking and financial sector, she was a member of the Management and the Supervisory Boards of banking and non-bank institutions in Bulgaria and abroad.

Teodora Petkova is UniCredit Head of Eastern Europe and is responsible for the business of the Group in the countries in the region. Her career started at UniCredit Bulbank in 2002 as a credit analyst. From 2009 to 2015, Teodora was Head of Credit Risk Department and in September 2015, she became Head of the International Centre in Corporate, Investment and Private Banking Division. In the period 2016-2019, she was Chief Risk Officer of UniCredit Bulbank and a member of the Bank’s Management Board. In 2019, she took the role of CEO and Chair of the Management Board of UniCredit Bulbank until May 2021, when her career progressed in the Group.

Teodora Petkova was a member of the Supervisory Board of UniCredit Consumer Financing and UniCredit Leasing and has many years of experience as a member of the Board of Directors of UniCredit Factoring.

Pasquale Giamboi has over 40 years of experience in the banking industry, starting his career in 1977 at Credito Italiano. During his long career in the banking sector, he was a member of the Management and the Supervisory Boards of many banking and non-bank companies, within and outside UniCredit Group, in Italy, Germany, Austria, Ukraine and Bulgaria. In January 2011, he was nominated as a member of the Management Board and Head of Retail Banking Division of UniCredit Bulbank.

Pasquale Giamboi is currently Chair of the Supervisory Board of UniCredit Bank S.A. Romania since April 2020, Chair of the Supervisory Board of UniCredit Bank Slovenia since March 2019 and Chair of the Supervisory Board of UniCredit Bank AD Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina) since October 2017.

Assoc. Prof. Atanas Georgiev, PhD is Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski” since 2019. In 2005, he became part-time and then in 2007 a full-time lecturer at the Department of Industrial Economics and Management, where for over 15 years he has been responsible for the development of the Master’s Program “Energy Markets and Services”, and since 2018, he has been Head of Department “Industrial Economics and Management”.

The new members of the Supervisory Board of UniCredit Bulbank will replace the outgoing Chair of the Supervisory Board Alberto Devoto and the members of the Supervisory Board Heinz Meidlinger and Dimitar Zhelev.
