Four Bulgarian universities are partners of UniCredit & Universities Foundation

A university’s success depends on its reputation in business circles, said Prof. Reinhard H. Schmidt, member of the Scientific Committee of UniCredit & Universities Foundation and Endowed Chair of Finance and Accounting, Goethe-Institut in Frankfurt during the Business and Education Conference organized by Capital newspaper. Other factors which influence a university’s good reputation is international funding and new ideas which stimulate research and university staff.

“The ability of an institute of higher education to mobilize funding from sources other than state funding has always been highly valued both by students and the business itself”, said Prof. Schmidt.

UniCredit & Universities Foundation was founded in 2009. It grants annual scholarships and fellowships abroad to talented students amounting to more than TEUR 200.

Four Bulgarian universities are partners of UniCredit & Universities Foundations: Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, University of National and World Economy, Higher School of Insurance and Finance and D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics.

The foundation grants scholarships in three major areas: support for study, research and scientific seminars.
