UniCredit Bulbank was awarded the prize Best Bank in Retail Banking in Pari Daily’s ranking for 2010. The bank’s CEO, Mr. Levon Hampartzoumian, received the prize at an official awards ceremony held in the evening of 30th May 2011.
UniCredit Bulbank was distinguished for its investment in its distribution network, as well as the development of its customer base and products and services offered in the field of Retail Banking, the jury explained. According to them, the bank’s financial performance in 2010 was better than that of the market as a whole.
Special attention is paid to UniCredit Bulbank’s relations with the customers and the development of alternative channels for sale of financial products. “The bank marked an increase in its customer base of 100,000 individual customers and almost 14,000 small and medium-sized enterprises. UniCredit Bulbank built on an intensive expansion of its distribution network (24 new offices, 2,600 new POS terminals). Meanwhile the bank has invested effort and money to improve its internet platform, which is essential with a view to the strategic importance of online banking in the future“, the jury comprising six professionals with rich experience in finance, added.
“A trend to be observed more and more often is an increased presence of electronic and mobile banking channels. This is a technological transformation which will happen fast and in the medium term will cause a rethinking of the overall philosophy of what a bank branch should look like“, Mr. Levon Hampartzoumian commented on the prize UniCredit Bulbank’s CEO.
