UniCredit Bulbank won the Consensus Economics 2014 Forecast Accuracy Award for Bulgaria, given by the leading economic survey firm Consensus Economics.

Kristofor Pavlov, Chief economist of UniCredit Bulbank and his team of analysts are more accurate for a second year in a row in their financial forecast on GDP growth and consumer price inflation than 13 other institutions participating in the survey.

“In a year of significant economic turbulence in 2014, UniCredit Bulbank’s team of analysts were more precise than their competitors, providing better forecasts for GDP growth and inflation in Bulgaria for a second year in a row”, says UniCredit Bulbank Chief Economist Kristofor Pavlov.

Consensus Economics polls more than 700 economists for their forecasts over a number of macroeconomic indicators in 115 countries. Consensus Economics was founded in 1989 and has since provided monthly consensus forecasts on G7, Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe and Latin America.

180 leading economists took part in the joint forecast about Eastern Europe. They analyzed between 10 and 14 economic indicators for the relevant country. Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, Hungary, Croatia and Czech Republic are among the countries included in the survey.

Since the beginning of 2015, UniCredit Bulbank won the Best Bank in Bulgaria for 2015 Award by Global Finance and EMEA Finance. The largest bank in Bulgaria won the Best trade finance bank award by Global Finance and Euromoney. The international finance magazine Global Finance gave two other awards to UniCredit for the whole CEE region – Best Bank for Private Banking in 2015 and Best Bank for Cash Management in 2015 and another award for UniCredit Bulbank – Best Subcustodian Bank 2015 for Bulgaria.
