The finale of the European Tour of UEFA Champions Leaguе Trophy is today in Stara Zagora. The mayor Zhivko Todorov, the deputy mayor Yordan Nikolov, the senior coach of Beroe FC, the Head of Retail Banking at UniCredit Bulbank, Tsvetanka Mintcheva, and the Regional Director of Retail Banking for Stara Zagora, Diana Chilova, were among the officials who welcomed the most valuable European football trophy.
Hundreds of citizens and guests of Stara Zagora gathered in the square in front of the municipal building to take photos with the Trophy of UEFA Champions Leaguе, which is transported by a special double-decker bus.
“UniCredit Bulbank has the unique opportunity to make the Bulgarian football fans happy by giving them the chance to see live and take pictures absolutely free of charge next to the most valuable trophy in the world of football. With initiatives such as the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour we aim to be close to the local communities”, Tsvetanka Mintcheva said upon the welcoming of the Trophy in Stara Zagora.
Stara Zagora is the fourth stopover in Bulgaria of the Trophy Tour, presented by UniCredit. Before that the European Tour of the Trophy went through Sofia, Veliko Tarnovo and Plovdiv. The UEFA Champions League Trophy is transported by a special double-decker bus. So far, this bus has passed around 5000 km. in Europe to reach the fans in five countries – Germany, Hungary, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bulgaria.
UniCredit Bulbank welcomed the UEFA Champions League Trophy in Sofia on October 18th at one of the most iconic places in the capital city – the park in front of Ivan Vazov National Theatre, where the Trophy was displayed in a specially constructed tent. Representatives of UniCredit Bulbank and UEFA Champions League, as well as Fabio Capello, the official ambassador of UniCredit for UEFA Champions League and Robert Pirès, the official ambassador for Bulgaria for the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour opened the three-day event.
The UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour proved to be a huge success for UniCredit by building strong relationships with the fans over the years. So far, the Tour has been through 13 European countries, passing 10,500 km to reach more than 480,000 football fans and to give them the exceptional opportunity to take more than 116,000 photos with the iconic trophy.
The partnership of UniCredit with UEFA Champions League
Season 2013-2014 marks the start of the second cycle of the three-year partnership between UniCredit and UEFA Champions League. So far, the partnership has had a positive effect in most of the countries where UniCredit is present as regards the image of the brand. After the first cycle from 2009 until 2012 activities got started for more than 200 campaigns related to UEFA Champions League in most of the countries where UniCredit is present.
