TV sets, domestic appliances and smart phones will be the preferred Christmas gifts – that's the opinion at UniCredit Consumer Financing, the company for consumer lending.  According to UniCredit, 23 December shall be the second most intense shopping day this year.

The first was Black Friday on which the company for consumer lending reported a record growth of over 70% in online sales in comparison with 2017. According to the experts at UniCredit Consumer Financing this is due to the more attractive online offers and promotions as well as to the simplified application procedure for POS loans. 

As of the beginning of the year it is possible to apply and get an approval for a POS loan from UniCredit Consumer Financing entirely online. The customer confirms their contract with a single click. All of which shortens the time for delivering the goods to the customer by 3 to 5 days. 

Brown goods, more specifically TV sets, were the most sought after purchase again this year. They constituted 1/3 of the total sales for that day, while smart phones took third place, behind computer tech. The total share of these three products from all Black Friday sales exceeds 60%.

The UniCredit Consumer Financing sample shows that the average loan amount has dropped by 6% – last year it was 810 leva, while this year it is 760 leva.  This is due to the fact that online products carry a greater weight, while online purchases have a lower value than those made at physical stores. 

On the basis of this data and of that from last year, UniCredit forecasts that on 23 December customers will head towards the physical stores. The experts expect that the average financed sum will be higher than last year by about 5% or approximately 780 leva, since the tendency throughout the whole year was such – to have a higher financed sum. 

The expectations are that on the second most intense shopping day customers will seek finance for the purchase of TV sets, domestic appliances and smart phones, which are among the most sought after gifts.
