Thus, the bank affirms its position as a leader in digital channels and innovations
UniCredit Bulbank has been recognised for The Best Digital Bank of 2024 by the Global Finance international magazine. This award is a result of UniCredit Bulbank strategic vision to strongly emphasize on the development of its digital channels and innovative products and services.
“The fast progress in the fintech field, the rise of digital solutions and the growing importance of cybersecurity constantly redefine the criteria for what the best digital banking means”, says Joseph Giarraputo, Founder and Editorial Director of Global Finance. “The Global Finance Awards for Best Digital Bank distinguishes those financial institutions, which are leaders in innovative digital solutions and set new standards”, he adds.
“This accomplishment is the result of the daily feedback our clients give us, combined with our team’s efforts. This prestigious award is a display of how committed UniCredit Bulbank is in providing useful and pragmatic digital solutions. Our bank is headed towards constant development of its services”, said Borislav Genov, Retail Banking Director and member of the Management Board of UniCredit Bulbank.
The awarded banks were evaluated by jurors – global leaders in the fields of consulting services, technologies and outsourcing. Global Finance’s editorial team was responsible for selecting the final winners in various categories. The winning banks’ assessment was based on criteria, such as established strategies for customer attraction and service through digital technologies, successfully encouraging customers to use digital solutions, rise in digital customers, range of available services, proof of tangible benefits of digital initiatives, design and functionalities of the website and mobile app.
UniCredit Bulbank affirms its leading place, as according to recent data of the bank, over 1 300 000 payments have been made through the mobile app per month, coming in a total of over 1 billion BGN. The Bulbank Mobile app has about 700 thousand active users.
In addition to the standard payment methods UniCredit Bulbank provides its customers with multiple digital features, which via Bulbank Mobile assures them diverse opportunities, as for example to pay taxes and traffic police fines (thanks to the “My Car” feature) etc. By the end of July, over 97% of payments were made via digital channels and over 30% of all sales were entirely remote. The rise in payments through online channels is nearly 35% on a yearly basis.
The bank holds a share of all instant (blink) settlements at almost 30%. Active customers of the bank also use the Blink P2P feature, which allows them to transfer money within seconds via a mobile number. The feature is available for interbank transfers as well.
Despite options for easier payments and services management, customers have free access to information regarding traffic police fines (currently given or not), expiry date of civil liability, technical reviews, vignettes and driving license through the “My Car” functionality. By now, about 50 thousand customers have used this feature after easily registering their car and driving license in the mobile app.
What’s more – Bulbank Mobile users can monitor and manage their expenses with free analysis.
