UniCredit Bulbank and Technopolis donate new electrical appliances to 148 households which were damaged during the floods last winter

The total amount of the donation is BGN 80,000 and the Minister of the Interior, Mr. Tsvetan Tsvetanov and the regional governor of Haskovo, Ms. Irena Uzunova took it upon themselves to monitor the correct distribution of the donations.

UniCredit Bulbank and Technopolis are donating new electrical appliances worth BGN 80 000 to 148 households which were damaged during the floods in February this year. At an official ceremony in the presence of the regional governor of Haskovo, Ms. Irena Uzunova, the CEO of UniCredit Bulbank, Mr. Levon Hampartzoumian and Mr. Todor Belchev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Technopolis, personally presented the donation to the mayors of Svilengrad and the village of Biser.

92 households from the village of Biser, 16 households from the village of Leshnikovo and 40 households from Svilengrad will receive new electrical appliances. So a total of 148 damaged households will receive Technopolis Giftcards for electrical appliances worth BGN 540 for every family.

"UniCredit Bulbank and Technopolis decided to join efforts, so we can help people to restore their homes and to return to their normal way of life", UniCredit Bulbank CEO Mr. Levon Hampartzoumian said. According to him, despite all the bad things that happen to us, we should not let bad events repeat and we should not let them stop us from living the life we want.

The Minister of the Interior, Mr. Tsvetan Tsvetanov, and the regional governor of Haskovo took it upon themselves to distribute the donations correctly to the actually affected families. Also, Community Councils were established in each of the affected places - Biser, Leshnikovo and Svilengrad - and they monitor and control strictly the lists and the donations.

Donation is being done now because people from the affected areas had to recover their homes first and then start refurbishing them.

UniCredit Bulbank provided BGN 55,000 for the joint donation campaign, while the remaining BGN 25,000 were donated by Technopolis. The initiative proves that successful business relations can be transferred also to the field of charity. The biggest bank in the country and the leading technology chain store signed a national partnership agreement in 2010.
