UniCredit Bulbank and UniCredit Foundation received the "Charity Project of the Year" on the ceremony of the sixth annual awards of the Bulgarian Donors' Forum. The jury distinguish joint project of UniCredit Foundation, UniCreditBulbank and the Bulgarian Red Cross to build centers for home care for elderly people in Dobrich and Smolyan. The project was launched last year and UniCredit Foundation provide the full amount of the necessary funding of 377 00 leva.

CEO of UniCredit Bulbank Levon Hampartzoumian received the award from Ludmil Karavassilev, Chairman of the Bulgarian Donors' Forum.

"To support the various projects and social groups for us is just as important as to serve its customers the highest level", said Hampartzoumian. He said corporate social responsibility as "awareness of the responsibility of companies to help the poorer, disadvantaged or to identify any variants of solving social problems". Dedication to the development of the communities, in which we live, is important part of the mission of UniCredit.

Besides the project to build a home care centers in both regions that are most affected by the migration of young people, last year UniCredit Foundation has supported six projects in Bulgaria. The projects - "Hot Lunch", the Fund for child victims of traffic accidents, providing scholarships for orphans, organizing a camp for children with neuromuscular diseases and provision of care for the elderly in homes - are included in the Gift Matching Programme of UniCredit Bulbank and so the donations of colleagues are matched by UniCredit Foundation.

In 2010 the amount of joint donations of UniCredit Foundation and UniCredit Bulbank for social projects in Bulgaria is around BGN 550 000.
