UniCredit Bulbank awarded the winners in the fifth edition of one of its programs aimed at the development of young people and university students – “My Bank of the Future”.   Aleksandra Valkanova (Plovdiv University “Paisii Hilendarski”), Irina Danova (UNWE) and Toni Kovandzhieva (UNWE) will receive annual scholarships in the amount of 1,350 leva, provided by the bank.

This year, 30 students from different universities were selected to participate in the initiative and, within a month, they had to work on five projects assigned by UniCredit Bulbank and related to customer experience.

During this last month, the students developed their ideas of what the bank of the future should look like, supported by professionals from UniCredit Bulbank. The bank provided the young participants not only with expert help on which they could rely, but also with trainings on project management and presentation skills.

“As a bank we aspire to make use of the opportunities provided by technologies, so that we can offer innovative products and services to our customers. The ambassadors of innovation are young people precisely and we found it interesting and valuable to hear about their vision of the future.  At the same time, we were glad to see how enthusiastic they were when they took on their tasks in “My Bank of the Future”, said Levon Hampartzoumian, Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Management Board of UniCredit Bulbank, at the awarding ceremony.

“Young people are our future clients and our future employees. It is important for us to understand what they expect from a bank, how they imagine the products and services – not only from the perspective of technologies, but also from the perspective of customer experience”, commented Tsvetanka Mintcheva, Director of Retail Banking Division and Member of the Management Board of UniCredit Bulbank. Tsvetanka Mintcheva is the initiator of “My Bank of the Future”, which was launched five years ago.

Here are some of the reasons for taking part in “My Bank of the Future” that some of the students shared with us:

• Hristo Nenov, participant in “Chatbots” project: “I enrolled just like that, but when I came to the bank, I realized that this program is taken rather seriously and that there is a good chance that the projects we are working on will be implemented, if not now, then in the not-too-distant future.”
• Simona Stoilkova, participant in “Customer Data Processing” project: “I chose my project because of the mentor who presented it. I think I can improve my own skills benefiting from his experience.”
• Irina Danova, participant in the winning project “Augmented Reality”: “Augmented reality means upgrading reality through virtual means. This was the project that impressed me the most, so I decided to try to contribute to its development. I believe that our project can speed up the processes in the bank and make customers more satisfied.”
