• Tzvetanka Mintcheva, the CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of UniCredit Bulbank, was named Manager of the Year 2023 at the 16th edition of the competition for top managerial achievements. The award ceremony took place yesterday at the Sofia Opera and Ballet.

Manager of the Year has established itself over the years as a barometer of the Bulgarian business environment and aims to highlight the best practices of the best leaders and professionals, standards and results that contribute to the Bulgarian economy, change the business climate and also contribute to strengthening Bulgaria's reputation around the world to have a more competitive and future-oriented economy, said Alexandra Mircheva, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of VM Finance Group and publisher of Manager magazine.

In his greeting before the announcement of the winner, President Rumen Radev expressed his belief that society has a valuable resource - individuals who have the vision and the will to build the state. He paid special tribute to the publisher and the Manager team on the occasion of the 25th anniversary and their contribution to the creation and maintenance of standards for objective and impartial journalism.

Tzvetanka Mintcheva shared three stories from her professional path that define her as a person and a leader. She stressed the importance of relationships within the organization and with clients and said that successful partnerships are built on mutual respect and trust. "Sometimes a little attitude is required to lay the foundations for successful partnerships. And if you see that someone has kept your business card for 20 years - this cannot be described. These are the things that I believe would help any person to stand here. But this is not enough, something more is needed. No one can be successful alone. For me the magical spice of a good team is important,” added Mrs. Mintcheva in her emotional address.

Tzvetanka Mintcheva started her career as an intern at the bank in 2001. Over the years, she held various commercial and managerial positions. She was responsible for the design and development of the alternative channels in the bank. From March 2020 until June 2021, she was the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of UniCredit Bank Romania. Since September 2021, she has been the CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of UniCredit Bulbank. Mrs. Mintcheva has a background in Economics. She has completed an MBA programme in International Business at the MIB School of Management in Italy. Since September 2021, she has been a member of the Board of the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria. Since June 2022, she has been its Chairman. In March 2022, she was elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Association of Banks in Bulgaria.
