Participants aged 16 and under will fight for national title as a team
Approximately 30 participants will compete in UniCredit Bulbank Optimist National Championship for young sailors aged 16 and under. The contest will be held near Balchik on September 1 and 2.
The event is organized by the Bulgarian Sailing Federation (BSF) and UniCredit Bulbank. The regatta will be hosted by Balchik MC.
According to the competition rules each sailing club can participate with one team only comprising three boats. The initial races will be on “everybody against everybody else” principle.
According to the Program the competition races will begin on 1 September 2008 at 12 o’clock. The winners will be determined at the end of the second competition day – 2 September 2008.
The young “optimists” will sail under flags with the logo of UniCredit Bulbank. After the event the flags will remain for the participating clubs.
UniCredit Bulbank is a traditional partner of the sport of sailing. In the beginning of July together with BSF the Bank organized one of the most important sailing events of the year – the regatta for the National UniCredit Bulbank 2008 Cup, which took place in the town of St. Vlas – Marina Dinevi. More than 30 yachts and more than 200 competitors on board competed in the third issue of the contest which distributed an award fund of TBGN 20.
