UniCredit Bulbank reports 50% year-on-year growth in transfers made via its mobile banking

UniCredit Bulbank reports 50% growth in the number of transactions made by clients of the bank in the mobile banking application. The significant growth, on an annual basis, at the end of 2020, is a result from the continuous improvements and the functionalities available in Bulbank Mobile, as well as the changed environment where a growing number of clients have confidence in the digital services and products of the bank. There is an increase also in the number of active users of Bulbank Mobile, reaching nearly half a million.

The trend is similar regarding the users of the remote channels for utility payments – for the past year 2020, the number of utility payments via the mobile banking has grown by 50% and this trend is continuing in the first quarter of 2021, too.

At the end of 2020, almost 90% of all payments were made through the bank’s digital channels – Bulbank Mobile and Bulbank Online.

“Last year accelerated the pace of digitalization at UniCredit Bulbank. We set up the necessary processes in order to be able to offer almost all services remotely. Now with the bank in their phones, clients can do almost everything remotely: starting with account opening and through requesting a bank card delivery to a specified address, requesting an investments plan, applying for a loan, signing of bank agreements and other documents as well as many other”, commented Victor Stoyanov, Head of Remote Services and Digital Channels Department.

UniCredit Bulbank meets the expectations of clients for faster and easily accessible digital services by continuing to streamline and update its digital channels. The bank has revamped its mobile banking Bulbank Mobile. The application has a fresh new look and design, allowing for a much more intuitive operation and simple navigation through the various functionalities and menus.

The revamping was done in collaboration with clients who had the opportunity to test the new application and provide their feedback.

The mobile application Bulbank Mobile makes it possible for the bank’s clients to avail themselves entirely remotely from traditional banking services and products by making transfers, including the option to create a payment transfer with a QR code, pay utility bills, add their cards issued by UniCredit Bulbank to the digital wallet of the bank and Apple Pay, manage their cards and being able to lock and unlock a certain card at any time.

Additionally, the users of Bulbank Mobile can activate a debit card with an electronic PIN, receive a dynamic password when shopping online with a card, digitally sign documents for products and services provided by the bank, get a quick access to account balances, through the Widget functionality requesting products they want, directly via an application they have access to an M-token for payment confirmation in Bulbank Online, with no need to download additional applications, etc.

Also, the mobile banking of UniCredit Bulbank provides a possibility for anyone to become a client of the bank entirely remotely by opening an account and requesting a debit card, with a card delivery to their address completely free of charge.

“The revamped Bulbank Mobile provides a possibility for the clients now even faster and more reliably to perform all bank transactions with their phone, without having to visit a bank branch. We further optimized and changed the application in order to resolve and eliminate all downsides, of which clients had informed us”, explained Stefan Petkov, Digital Transformation Manager at UniCredit Bulbank.
