Drawings by the great Italian Renaissance master to be exhibited for the first time in Bulgaria owing to support by the bank.
UniCredit Bulbank is partner in the Michelangelo Drawings Exhibition, through which works of the great Italian Renaissance master will be displayed in Bulgaria for the first time owing to support by the bank.
Residents and visitors of Sofia will have the opportunity to enjoy the Michelangelo Drawings at the National Art Gallery in Sofia from 18 September to 15 December.
"It is an honor to UniCredit Bulbank to be supporting the visit of such valuable works of art to Bulgaria", commented UniCredit Bulbank CEO Levon Hampartzoumian on occasion of the partnership in the exhibition.
The exhibition, which comprises four original works of the artist, provided by the Casa Buonarroti museum house in Florence, will commemorate the 450th anniversary of the artist's death (1475 –1564).
Curator of the exhibition is Dott. Pina Ragionieri, Director of Casa Buonarroti. It will be accompanied by an elegant catalogue and several films dedicated to Michelangelo and his works as well as to Casa Buonarroti.
"Casa Buonarroti", the home of the Buonarroti family, today is the institution which keeps the historical memory of the life and art of the master and serves simultaneously as a museum, archive, library and a research lab. Its archives store the richest collection of documents concerning the artist, diverse heritage which includes letters, poetry, correspondence and other original documents, whereas the museum keeps a few of the renowned masterpieces of Michelangelo, among which marble sculptures, sketches and drawings", writes the director of the Italian Cultural Institute Anna Amendolagine in the foreword to the catalogue.
The Michelangelo Drawings Exhibition is realized through cooperation between the Italian Cultural Institute and the National Art Gallery. It is under the auspices of the Embassy of Italy in Bulgaria.
