The innovative project launched in Pamporovo will reduce the queue time at ski pass cash desks and at the same time tourists may benefit from being spared the inconvenience of having to keep large amounts of cash with them.
For the first time in Bulgaria this winter season tourists in Pamporovo will be able to buy ski lift and ski equipment tickets and cards by using bank cards at automatic payment stations. The project is assigned by Pamporovo AD and the parties involved in the implementation of the project are UniCredit Bulbank, Borika-Bankservice, Asseco SEE (distributor of card payment components for Bulgaria) and IUC-Group (integrator – supplier of automatic ticket machines).
For the first time in our country this project allows payments to be made by a bank card at a vending machine without any staff available at the place.
“People are expected, gradually, to get used to the automatic ticket machines and switch to performing the better part of the transactions at the automatic machines, instead of the cash desks,” said Mariana Velikova-Chausheva, Head of Cards Department at UniCredit Bulbank.
The purchase of ski lift tickets and cards with bank cards may now be much faster since a transaction is processed in 5-10 seconds depending on the GPRS communication. Ordinary cash desks for ticket sales will still be open.

Card payments at automatic machines are convenient for foreigner because with the new service they will no longer need to exchange foreign currency in leva in order to buy tickets for ski equipment.
