UniCredit Bulbank joins young.LEADERS.talk programme

UniCredit Bulbank joined LEADERS.talk 2019 Programme, which is part of the fifth edition of the national internship initiative “Staying in Bulgaria”. The purpose of the national internship initiative, which is organized by the Council of Women in Business in Bulgaria and A1, is to support young future professionals in expanding their qualities and skills and entering the business world.  

Teodora Petkova, Chief Executive Officer of UniCredit Bulbank, Tsvetanka Mincheva, Head of Global Banking Services and Ivan Papazov, Senior Manager in Human Resources Department of UniCredit Bulbank invited interns participating in the initiative to visit the bank and discussed development opportunities, how to find a suitable work environment and an incentive to work in Bulgaria.

Teodora Petkova shared with the young future professional that her own career started as an intern in the bank that she now is managing. She pointed out that a great number of the managers in UniCredit Bulbank have indeed started as interns and developed their expertise to become high professionals.

The Chief Executive Officer of UniCredit Bulbank also gave practical tips to the participants in the national internship initiative “Staying in Bulgaria”.

“When choosing your future employer, try to find a job that you like. I would also advise you to work for a company whose values correspond with your own personal values.”

Tsvetanka Mincheva also took part in the discussion with the participants in the programme young.LEADERS.talk. She said that her career also started in UniCredit Bulbank AD as an intern. At that time, she was a member of a newly established commercial unit of the bank, which developed new projects and products. In twelve years, her career evolved to becoming a member of the Management Board and a Head of Retail Banking Division, which she managed for four years. Currently, she is managing the operative area of the bank.

Tsvetanka Mincheva advised the participants in the initiative to be brave, adaptable and not to be afraid to take on different roles no matter what their job is. 

Ivan Papazov, Senior Manager in Human Resources Department in UniCredit Bulbank talked to the participants about the opportunities UniCredit Bulbank offers to young future professionals.

He reminded that UniCredit Bulbank is the only Bulgarian bank certified as a top employer for 2019. The Bank has received this recognition for the third consecutive time as it constantly invests in the development of its employees and improvement of the work environment.

“For us in UniCredit, the work-life balance is immensely important. In this regard, we develop various initiatives to make our employees happier. We strive to have flexibility of the time and space we are working in. We invest in enhancement of the knowledge of our colleagues through different online trainings. We give our colleagues more time to be with the people they love by providing one additional day of leave for their birthday, for instance“, added Ivan Papazov.
