UniCredit Bulbank will support individuals affected by the COVID-19 crisis

UniCredit Bulbank signed an agreement with the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) to support individuals affected by the COVID-19 crisis by offering them a programme for interest-free loans of up to BGN 4500. 

According to the terms of the programme, individuals unable to work due to the countrywide state of emergency over the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic can benefit from uncollateralised loans of up to 4,500 levs under if they meet certain requirements. The loans will have a term of up to five years with a grace period of no less than six months and no more than 24 months. Loan requests will be accepted by the end of the year.

Who can apply:

Individuals with employment contract who:

  • Have paid social security contributions for the last 6 months
  • Went on unpaid leave due to COVID-19 crisis
  • Not receiving remuneration for other legal employment relationships
  • Will return to the same job when unpaid leave expired

Self-employed who:

  • Have paid social security contributions
  • Have interrupted their self-employment activities and/or have suffered at least a 20% decline of their income for the first quarter of 2020 compared to the first quarter of 2019, as a result of the pandemic.

Individuals who meet the conditions can apply for interest-free loans up to BGN 4500 with up to 5 years repayment period and with 0% interest rate and minium of six and no more than 24 months grace period. After the expiration of the grace period, the loan will be repaid in equal installments. No commission will be charged if the loan is repaid early.

The bank have already offered several mechanisms with concrete relief measures for customers affected by the COVID-19 crisis, like moratorium approved by the BNB, and is now taking part in the program for interest-free loans for individuals, supporting them to get out of this unexpected crisis faster. We will support as well customers who need specific solutions”, commented Teodora Petkova, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of UniCredit Bulbank.

Application for interest-free loans does can be done via the Call Centre of the bank available at 02 9337 373 (short *2274) or in a UniCredit Bulbank’s branch. The clients can fill in the online form on UniCredit Bulbank's website - for individual clients - and employees of the bank they will contact them.

The loan program’s application period is open until 31.12.2020.
