UniCredit Bulbank won the Best Banking Product Award for 2014 with V Pay Contactless card. The award was given during Card Payments Forum Sofia, organized by b2b magazine.

With just one move V Pay debit card turns paying into pleasure – it is easy and fast. The V Pay card is the most secure card in the world. Payments are carried out with a chip technology and PIN code. This is the only card, whose magnetic stripe does not contain financial information. So far, there are no reports of misuse of the card.

You can shop online safely, hotel reservations, rent a car, airplane ticket, etc. with V Pay. This card is set out to be the evolution of card payments security.

At the end of 2014 the bank had issued over 260 000 contactless cards and there are approximately 4000 contactless terminals where these cards can be used. These indicators form respectively about 1/5 of all contactless cards issued in Bulgaria and about 30% of the serviced contactless terminals at a market level. The updated information about the spreading of the new payment standard in Europe shows that customers can make contactless payments at 2 million terminals in 25 countries, which is a growth of 67% for one year.
