19 countries and over 13 thousand employees have been engaged in 2012 charity projects.
UniCredit Foundation is extremely engaged in projects within Bulgaria, supporting different social causes in the country for more than 10 years.
UniCredit Bulbank was awarded by UniCredit Foundation for the support to Bulgarian Charities Aid Foundation.
In a decade-long activity, the program has helped to finance more than 3,500 projects supported by non-profit organizations across Europe, by collecting donations made by employees and the supplementary contribution made by UniCredit Foundation, for an overall sum totaling more than 31 million Euro.

The 2012 edition of the Gift Matching Program saw the participation of 19 countries and the engagement of more than 13,000 employees, which allowed to raise around 3.7 million Euro and support 411 non-profit organizations.

UniCredit Foundation is highly involved in projects in Bulgaria supporting various social causes in the country for over 10 years.
One of the most significant initiatives funded 100% by UniCredit foundation is the project on the construction of centers for home care of the elderly in Smolian and Dobrich, providing in the course of two years food and qualified medical care for people left alone as a result of emigrational processes.
Currently, together with the Lale Foundation, UniCredit Foundation is working on a project aimed at preventing children from being left in social institutions. The project “I believe in the family” which is underway in Haskovo, Svilengrad, Ljubimets, Stambolovo, Harmanly and Plovdiv has already helped tens of families to remain together.
Traditionally UniCredit Foundation together with UniCredit Bulbank’s employees also makes donations for ongoing projects, such as the “Warm Lunch” programme, the Fund for the Victims of Traffic Accidents, Scholarships for orphans, etc.
In total the donations of UniCredit Foundations for projects in Bulgaria exceed the amount of TBGN 650.
UniCredit Bulbank was awarded by UniCredit Foundation for the support to Bulgarian Charities Aid Foundation. All the other projects in the countries, where UniCredit is present were also awarded at a special ceremony in Vienna. UniCredit Foundation made an additional contribution to the sum raised for each of the best 19 projects awarded – one per country – up to a maximum of 5,000 Euro, which adds to the traditional contribution “matching” the employees’ donations. Thanks to the dedication of the employees of the awarded projects, further benefit were then brought to the non-profit organizations supported by the program.
