Besides that, the Group has started a campaign for raising funds among all its employees, who are encouraged to donate their hourly wage. UniCredit Group has representation in 22 European countries and employs nearly 170 000 people.
The last data shows that the number of the casualties from the tremors is reaching 280 people, and about 29 000 people were left homeless.
In order to help those affected by the earthquakes most effectively, UniCredit Group will combine its efforts with the efforts of the Italian banking system and the social services agencies. The Group actively engages itself in taking quick and adequate measures to support not only its employees but also all local communities affected by the earthquake.
Right after the first tremor in the region of Abruzzo, an emergency team, led by the Safety and Security Unit of UniCredit Group, started working together with the Italian governmental organization for emergency situations (Protezione Civile). The emergency team provides specialized support to the Group's employees and their families.
