UniCredit Bulbank has welcomed the UEFA Champions League Trophy in Sofia

Fabio Capello, the official ambassador of UniCredit for UEFA Champions League and Robert Pirès, the official ambassador for Bulgaria for the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour, opened the three-day event in front of Ivan Vazov National Theatre.

UniCredit Bulbank has welcomed the UEFA Champions League Trophy in Sofia. The Trophy can be seen at one of the most iconic places in the Bulgarian capital city – the park in front of Ivan Vazov National Theatre from October 18th until October 20th in a specially constructed tent.

Representatives of UniCredit Bulbank and UEFA Champions League, as well as Fabio Capello, the official ambassador of UniCredit for UEFA Champions League and Robert Pirès, the official ambassador for Bulgaria for the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour opened the three-day event.

Until Sunday, the football fans from Sofia and the vicinity will have the unique opportunity to have a close look at the UEFA Champions League Trophy. Besides seeing the Trophy and having their picture taken with it, all visitors will be able to explore also the special collection of football memorabilia and have fun with interactive games and digital attractions, which are made possible thanks to ultramodern technologies. Today, the Trophy can be seen until 18:00 h. The programme for the weekend is the following:

• Free admission to the exhibition and the Trophy: 11:00 – 20:00 h., October 19th;

• Free admission to the exhibition and the Trophy: 09:00 – 20:00 h., October 20th.

Besides Sofia, three other big Bulgarian towns have been approved by UEFA to host the Trophy Tour. The Trophy Tour in these towns is organized in collaboration with the local municipal bodies. Each municipality plans attractive events for the visit of the Trophy in their town. It will be on display in:

• Veliko Tarnovo – 21. October, 12:00-15:00 h. – Marno Pole Park;

• Veliko Tarnovo – 21. October, 15:00 – 19:00 h. – in the square in front of Tsarevets Fortress;

• Plovdiv – 22. October, 12:00 – 18:00 h. – Central Square in Plovdiv;

• Stara Zagora – 23. October, 12:00 – 18:00 h. – in the square in front of the municipal building.

The UEFA Champions League Trophy passed through the border between Serbia and Bulgaria on Wednesday, October 16th, where it was given a warm welcome with a traditional Bulgarian ceremony. The UEFA Champions League passed through Kalotina Border Checkpoint on a specially branded bus with the logo of UEFA Champions League and UniCredit. The bus carrying the most coveted football trophy has passed around 5000 km. in Europe to reach the fans in five countries – Germany, Hungary, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bulgaria.

Bulgaria has the honour to host the final of the European Tour of the Trophy of UEFA Champions League 2013. The Trophy bus is accompanied by 5 TIR vehicles transporting the structure of the tent, in which the Trophy will be displayed in Sofia, and a unique collection of football memorabilia.

UniCredit Walk of Champions

In order to avoid the queues for the exhibition UniCredit Walk of Champions, visitors have the option to register in advance on the specially created microsite dedicated to the Trophy Tour: http://be-part-of-it.unicredit.eu/bg-bg.html or on the facebook page of the bank.

By showing the code on their phone on the day of the event, visitors will get a personal RFID card, which will ensure for them a full-fledged experience during the exhibition. One touch of the special screens is enough to activate the relevant game or raffle. Thanks to the RFID technology in the card, each football fan will get his personal photo with the Trophy on his mobile phone and by e-mail with the option to share it instantly in his favourite social network.

The UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour is an event of great significance for UniCredit and for football fans alike. Until this year, the Trophy has been to 13 European countries, passing 10 500 km to reach 480 000 fans and to give them the possibility to take 116 000 photos with the iconic trophy. The average return on investment of 384% was achieved with the last four Trophy Tours and the six exciting weeks of this year’s tour for sure will add additional value to these remarkable results.
