As the number of people shopping for presents online is increasing, in order to prevent any inconveniences and fraudulent attacks at the end of the year experts advise to read carefully the general terms and conditions of retailers – method of payment, purchase order cancellation, goods replacement policy, etc. An indication of the security of the retailer's website is an icon that looks like a padlock at the bottom right corner of the browser and the change of the address from "http" to "https".
The systems for cardholder identification Verified by Visa and MasterCard SecureCode offer additional security. The free service of the bank called "password for secure online payments" provides still greater control when using the cards online and reduces the possibility of unauthorized use of the payment instrument. The service offers a possibility to create and manage your own profile, to receive information, to unblock a forgotten password through answering a personal security question or personal messages. The initial registration is free of charge as well as the change or unblocking of a secure password through the personal profile or at an ATM of the bank.
