As from the beginning of December 2013, UniCredit Bank will provide banking products and services under the single corporate name UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia, a.s. in both countries. In Slovakia the new bank’s name will be supplemented by the words foreign bank branch (UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia, a.s. – pobočka zahraničnej banky).
By this merger the best offered by the two banks is to utilize. “We have created a new stronger bank that will operate on both markets, provide a higher standard of services via a branch network both in Slovakia and in the Czech Republic highlighting effective management not only of the financial balance sheet but also liquidity and costs,” said Jiří Kunert, Chairman of the Board and CEO of UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia.
At the end of November, the legal merger of both banking houses was completed in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. UniCredit Group announced the commencement of the merger of the Czech and Slovak UniCredit Bank into one cross-border bank in November 2012.
