The winner in My Hero competition Diana Petrova, a literature teacher in Gorna Oryahovitsa, leaves for Milan tomorrow.
UniCredit Bulbank was distinguished with an award in the Personal Finance category for its Facebook application My Hero at the Third Annual Awards of Webit Bulgaria for Online Efficiency and Marketing.
At the official ceremony (on Wednesday evening) the award was given personally to Georgi Grancharov, online communications expert in UniCredit Bulbank, by Plamen Rusev, President of e-Academy and organizer of the Webit events.
In November last year UniCredit Bulbank announced the challenge on the Facebook page of the bank, inviting people to nominate the heroes in their own life. An occasion for the initiative was the TV reality show on bTV "True Heroes - This is Life", realized with the support of UniCredit Bulbank.
The show presented people who are not afraid to follow their dreams and always look ahead, have the courage and desire to succeed, rejoice in the little things and never forget about the people around them. Each of them has their own business and has succeeded through the years with honest work, original thinking and ambition to earn a name in the respective field.
Following the example of the participants in the show, the bank turned to its followers on Facebook to nominate their own heroes - such that we would like to be role models in our society. The winner in the competition - Diana Petrova, a teacher of literature in the town of Gorna Oryahovitsa, leaves for Milan tomorrow. The trip to Italy is her prize, and the bank has prepared one more surprise for her - a visit to UniCredit's Head Office, which is the highest building in the city - 230 meters.
"For the bank and for our whole society it is very important that a true hero today we can call one Bulgarian teacher, moreover nominated by her student", commented the CEO of UniCredit Bulbank Levon Hampartzoumian, who was part of the jury which reviewed the nominations and selected the finalist. He further explained that the field of education is a key area in which the bank invests, through various programmes intended for its employees and through support and joint work with schools and universities.
The award of the public in My Hero Facebook competition, determined by the votes of the fans on the Facebook page of UniCredit Bulbank, was won by Darin Madzharov – founder of the electronic platform for education Ucha.se. Thus the two contemporary heroes selected in the competition, although from different generations and with different contribution to society, are from the field of education.
